Comments: Hi everyone,
My mother has given me the task of selling her match label, cover and box collection, some are full books.
We have at least 2500 from all over the world. We are in England so hence we have a lot of english collections ie: English/London Hotels some full and partial bryant and may collections, also singles in scottish bluebell, and a charles and diana commemorative matchbook(full book). Also, not to sure on this one ValHalla Inn CA, full book pictured matches. This is not to say that these are the best, still compiling! My mother was an avid collector so Im sure there is something for all. Contact me if you would like to enquire. Many thanks
I can sell either as job lot or in sets(when I finish compiling!!)

Comments: I have approx. 200 matchbooks that were collected by my grandfather.
They probably date back to the 1930's through the 1960's.
A lot of them are from restaurants and hotels in NYC. Some of them are advertisements for A&P and various other businesses.
Would someone tell me if they are worth anything and how I would find information on pricing them.
Thank you,
Barbara Yob,

Comments: Hello im looking to sell a large collection of matchbook covers...I havent counted them all but I would estimate the total at well over 500..and I mean well over...it could easyily be double that..I will figure it out and let any interested parties know.

The collection belonged to my grandfather and was compiled during his travels all over the world as a pipeline engineer with bechel(spelling?)industries over many years. I am not overly knowledgeable in this field so I cant give to much detail into what kind of matchbooks and all that..but I can say there is alot of them..and the ones I have examined come from all different parts of the world.

I have no idea of what price to ask so I am basically accepting offers.

If you are interested then please email me at downburst82@hotmail.com and I guess give me an offer..from there I will try to answer any questions and figure anything else out for you.

thanx

Micah

Comments: I was sent 2 matchbooks from someone in England. They are for an American Company named Pure Oil. Made for Service Stations. The service station is or was located in Waverly, TENN.

Both fronts have Pinup style pictures.

I believe these to have been produced in the 40's.

Any info on the value would be helpful.

Also, if someone knows of a P. Sellers that lives in England that collects matchbooks, I would appreciate if the could send me a contact E-mail for them.

I realise it is a long shot. But, I would like thank the person if possible.

Thanks.

Comments: Hello,
I have about 60 intact matchbooks, most unstruck, that a relative once collected. Since he died several years ago, his wife has asked me to see if they are worth anything. I know nothing about this field of collecting. Can you suggest a way that I can find out if these matchbooks are of any value to her? I thank you in advance for your time and consideration in this matter and await your timely response.

Comments: Hi! I'm only 13, but I have a collection of at least 350 matchbooks. I've been collecting for a while, but while I have, I have kept the matches intact with the matchcovers. It looks like the majority of collectors take out the matches, however some of my matchbooklets are unique becasuse of the matches... So in a nutshell: Does removing matches from their covers affect price or value, especially if there are images or even advertisements on the matches themselves??? Thanks for your time. I am trying to find some estimate values on both. I have them dating back without matches to the
1936 world expo. I also have ones with matches from the 1962 Worlds Fair.
The one I love the most that has no matches in it is of the USS Arizona on top of the water.
Estimate on the date is 1936. Is there some one I can contact or do you have any info.
Thank You much for any help.

Comments: I have just stumbled across your site. I have 2 JFK White House inaugural matchcovers (with all matches intact). They have his name imposed over an embossed White House, with the seal on the back, and the union local on the bottom fold below the striker.

How do I find out a value for these? I'm completely new at this. Any advice is most welcome. Thanks!

Comments: I have been collecting matchbook for 30 years. Many friends have given me matchbooks over the years, some from foreign countries that I do not know what they say. A friend recently gave me a large quantity of matchcovers. Most of them from the 40's and 50's. I have no idea what value they may have. It was interesting visiting your Website. I would like to attend a convention when
there is one in my area. Thank you again.
